On the desktop of every library PC is a connection to VDI VMware Client, which makes some academic software available to users of common operating systems (MAC/PC/Linux) from virtually any location (on or off campus) where a network connection is available. This service is available to all current SUNY New Paltz Students, Faculty, or Staff with a NPCUID. Click on the VDI VMware Client icon. A new window will appear. Click on the vdi.newpaltz.edu icon and log in with your NPCUID and password. Open a virtual desktop and search for the software. For example, SPSS can be found on the Win7Lab desktop.

The following software is available through VDI:

  • Adobe Acrobat X Pro
  • Adobe Reader XI
  • Adobe Acrobat Distiller
  • BlueJ
  • Google Drive
  • IBM SPSS Statistics 23.0
  • Microsoft Office 2013
  • Minitab 16 Statistical Software
  • Smart Notebook 15
  • VM Statistics Logging
  • Wolfram Mathematica 10.1
