A great place to start for career information is the Occupational Outlook Handbook. You can search for a specific career using the search box or browse careers by occupation groups using the tabs on the left side of the page.

If you are looking for books, try the following in the library catalog:

1. Select the Subject Words search option from the library home page.

2. Always combine the phrase "vocational guidance" (with quotations) AND your selected career, for example:

  • "vocational guidance" AND accounting
  • "vocational guidance" AND teachers

If you are looking for articles try searching the Nexis Uni database using a similar strategy.  Combine the keyword career AND your selected career.  For example:

  • "graphic designer" AND career
  •  "marketing" AND career

Note that you can filter your results by geography on the left hand side of the screen.
