The Friends of the Sojourner Truth Library at the State University of New York at New Paltz hold a semi-annual used book sale, usually held during the months of May and December. Hard cover books sell for $1; paperbacks are priced at 50 cents each. All proceeds benefit the Sojourner Truth Library.

Books at the sale cover all subjects and additional books are added to the sale each day. All books that are on sale at the Used Book Sale have been donated to the Friends of the Library "Books for Books" program by college faculty, staff, students, alumni, and by community members.
