There are many strategies for locating multicultural children's books in the Sojourner Truth Library.  One strategy to use the STL library catalog Advanced Search screen, and to limit your search to "Juvenile Collection." Then you can type in search terms that describe a particular community or culture, such as "Muslim?"  The Question mark(?) at the end of the word Muslim will truncate the word, that is it will search for both the singular and plural form of the word, and retrieve books about Muslim Americans or Muslims.

Click here to see the list of books listed in our Library Catalog that result from the Advanced Search limited to Juvenile Collection for the words "multicultur? or divers?"

Here are some other STL Library Catalog search results for children's books about various cultures, communities, and populations:

Africa or Africans

African Americans

Asians

Jews or Judaism

Latinos

LBQT

Mentally Challenged

Muslims

South Asia (India, Pakistan)

Native Americans

Physically Challenged

The Juvenile Collection is on the concourse level (middle floor). It is arranged by call number, so be sure to copy the full call number before going to look for it in the Juvenile Collection.
